Block Mail from a Sender

In addition to the mail rules you define, you can easily block the mail sent to you by a selected sender. When you use the Block Mail from Sender rule, the messages from a selected person or e-mail address are designated junk mail, and are delivered directly to your Junk Mail view, instead of to your mail Inbox.

  1. From your Inbox, select a message from the sender whose mail you want to block.
  2. Click the arrow next to More, and then select Block Mail from Sender.
  3. Check the User name and User e-mail fields to make sure the name and e-mail address are for the person whose incoming messages you want to block.
  4. (optional) Select Do not confirm each addition to the list. The next time you select a name to add to the Block Mail from Sender rule, the name will be added to the junk mail list without requiring confirmation.

Note Messages already received by the person whose mail you are blocking remain in your Inbox. Only future messages are affected.

For information on adding or removing a person from a block sender mail rule, see Add or Remove a Person from the Block Sender Mail Rule.

View Block Sender Rules

You view block sender mail rules the same way you view other mail rules. From your Inbox, point to More and then click Mail Rules.

After you have created a block sender mail rule, the rule displays in the Mail Rules list with the condition "WHEN Sender or Internet Domain is in the Blocked Senders List" and the action "THEN move to folder Junk."
