With instant messaging, you can chat with anyone listed in your instant contact list or a directory on your mail server.
Before you can use instant messaging, you must enable it. Click Preferences. On the Basics tab under Instant messaging check Enable Instant messaging.
Once you have enabled instant messaging, your online status is visible to other users, and you can see who is available online. Online status icons appear in mail messages, meeting invitations, and in mail, contacts, and calendar views.
Note You may not be able to use the meeting capabilities unless your IBM(R) Lotus(R) Sametime(R) server includes Web conferencing capabilities.
