Lite mode

The lite mode of IBM(R) Lotus(R) iNotesTM provides quick access to mail, calendar, and contacts in a streamlined user interface. This mode is ideal for reading and responding to mail quickly and efficiently. It is optimized for performance in low-bandwidth environments. Tasks performed in any mode are reflected in all modes, so there is never a time when the modes are out of sync with one another.

The most frequently used features in mail, calendar, and contacts are supported in lite mode. Notebook, the home page, and to do entries are not supported. The preferences that affect lite mode can be set in lite mode as well as in full mode.

Features in lite mode only

Some features in lite mode are different than in other modes. The spell check, for example, uses highlighted and wavy underlined text to call out misspelled or unrecognized words in line. Some of the dialogs and forms have a different look. Particularly useful is the appearance of an asterisk (*) in the tab of new messages you are composing. The asterisk indicates that changes have not been saved.
