The user-friendly interface of IBM(R) Lotus(R) iNotesTM makes it easy for you to work in your applications.
Documents and feature areas open in a tab. A status indicator shows that the tab is loading.
Each document or feature area, such as mail, or document has an action bar that displays icons and menus you can use to perform tasks for the area or document. Action bars display above the list or calendar view, beneath the Search bar.
Located at the top right of the Lotus iNotes screen, use the top menu bar to change modes, set preferences, go offline, log out, and access open the product help.
The navigation pane is on the left side of the Lotus iNotes window. Use this pane to open views and folders, check your mail quota status, and log in to IBM Lotus Sametime(R).
To open a functional area, use the switcher, and click the icon for the area you want to open. Click the arrows to open the Home Page.
The sidebar provides constant access to your day-at-a-glance calendar, Lotus Sametime(R), and to Help.
You can preview messages by viewing them in a preview pane at the side or bottom of your list of messages. Click Show, and then choose where to display the preview pane or choose to hide the it.

In list views you can sort the information by changing the sort order of a column.
Columns that change color when you move your cursor over it can be sorted. You can drag the column margin to adjust the width. To restore the columns to their original widths, right-click and select Restore Widths.
You can refresh your screen to show new documents by clicking the refresh button on the action bar.
You can use your browser's viewing options to make text smaller or larger. Note, however, If you decrease the text size by choosing a smaller size, the rows in a list view shrink, causing a gap to appear at the bottom of the list. Refresh the view to repair the gap.
You can change modes from the full mode of Lotus iNotes to the lite or the ultra-light mode, from the menu bar at the top of the Lotus iNotes window.
Drag calendar entries from one slot to another to reschedule. You can also drag the side margins for panes or windows to resize them.
