With IBM(R) Lotus(R) Domino(TM) Unified Communications (DUC), you can send and receive voice mail from your computer -- that is, a system that is equipped with speakers, a sound card, and a microphone. Using a telephone, you can create and listen to voice mail.
Working with voice mail is similar to working with e-mail. In fact, virtually everything that you already know about creating, sending, and receiving e-mail applies to creating, sending, and receiving voice mail. The only differences are that instead of reading a message, you listen to it; and instead of writing a message, you record it.
Because all messages are stored in your IBM(R) Lotus(R) Notes(R) mail file, you can see voice, e-mail, and fax messages in one place. All messages appear in the same inbox, and in addition, voice messages appear in a separate voice inbox that displays the length and type of each message. In both inboxes, an icon identifies each type of message. Because both inboxes are linked, if you delete or move a message from one inbox, the message is automatically deleted or moved from the other inbox.
